On the basis of the Institute of Kalmyk Philology and Oriental Studies, KalmSU is in the process of recruiting students for the NEW bachelor’s programme. The area of training is «ORIENTAL AND AFRICAN STUDIES», the profile is “Languages and Literature of Asia and Africa (Korean and Mongolian languages). It is one of the most balanced and comprehensive programmes of KalmSU on studying the countries and people’s of the East, which would make possible to apply the acquired knowledge to any practical or scientific field. This area of training is a combination of classical
Oriental education with advanced study of languages and literature;
history, religion, social thought and political processes in the countries
of the East. The basis of the Oriental education is professional mastery of the eastern languages. This program is aimed at a comprehensive study of Korean, Mongolian and English languages.
Graduates will be able to work in Russian and international organizations: ministries and departments whose activities are related to the development of Russia’s cooperation with Asian countries in the economic and political sphere, scientific and cultural organizations; international and intergovernmental organizations and associations; Russian and international companies whose activities include those of countries in East Asia and the Middle East; information agencies and the media; their offices in Asia; expert and analytical centers and scientific and educational institutions.
