On the eve of the Victory Day, a voice-over art competition “An excerpt from the history of the Great Patriotic War” was announced at the Faculty of pre-university training and education of foreign citizens of KalmSU. The purpose of the competition is to familiarize foreign citizens with Russian culture, to form interest and respect for Russia, its historical past, present and future.
Xiao Xi Lu and Liu Ji Zhu, the 1st year students from the North-West Pedagogical University of China, who came to KalmSU to pass internship, prepared the poem “Dnepr” by Morkhadzhi Bambaevich Narmaev, the Kalmyk State University veteran. The girls supplemented their performance with a presentation with a biography of the poet. Also, a Chinese trainee Qin Chengcheng, a third-year student of the Northwestern Pedagogical University, spoke about Natalya Aleksandrovna Kachuevskaya (1922-1942). The title of Hero of the Russian Federation Natalya Aleksandrovna Kachuevskaya was awarded by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated May 12, 1997 No. 472 for “Сourage and heroism shown in the fight against the Nazi invaders in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”. Her name was given to the streets in Moscow, Volgograd, Astrakhan, the village of Yashkul and the village of Hulkhuta in Kalmykia.
The competition was attended by listeners from Haiti. Amisial Giovani in his video said that everyone should know what a high price the USSR paid in the war with the Germans, about the symbols of Russia’s victory: the St. George ribbon and carnations. Foreigners should definitely know how many flowers to give Russian friends. Giovani really likes the words of Y. Levitan “Attention, Moscow says”. Giovani noticed that the Russian people have a favorite color of red: the Red Army, Red Square, the red walls of the Kremlin, the Russian flag has a red stripe. Salomon Adentzsky told where the name “Patriotic War” originates, and how the Russian people rejoiced at the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Mark-Onel Volsimus outlined the reasons, course and consequences of the Great Patriotic War.
For the winners of the competition, a faculty vote was organized, as a result of which the places were distributed as follows:

The rest of the participants were awarded with diplomas in the nominations “Erudition” (Mark-Onel Wolsimus), “Expressiveness” (Liu Ji Zhu), “Artistic” (Xiao Xi Lu).
